Reign of Starscream 02 cover

So after all this time i finally finish the second cover to reign of starscream. well it's the second version of the second cover. the first one i had done before i started working on issue 01, but unfortunately we can't use that one at the moment. it's too bad, i really liked that one.

however, here is the new number 2 cover. i finished this one after i finished issue 02, which isn't normal, but i wasn't stuck for an idea and time. also i ran a bit late with the linework for issue 02 that i needed to help josh so i decided to color the cover. i didn't want to over work the poor guy. he get enough of that as it is.

so this is another attempt at coloring my own work. this pic was a real learning experience for me. i went above the normal, just select and paint that i normally do. i actually created my own brushes to get certain effects. well created them as much as i could with my limited understanding of how to do that. now i'll attempted to create different one from what i learned doing this pic.
i think the biggest pain for me is the fact that i'm super picky, and i want everything to look like it is one the movie. i was looking at my movie reference, and i paused the movie again to look at screamers head to pick up on some of the more subtle color details. i even put the marking on him that are on his little wing tips on his chest.
yeah, with this cover i wanted a blue sky. every since the first issue, and josh was coloring the blue sky, and the contrast it gave, i wanted to have that in this work. also i love putting the cool shadow on this and all the texture i added, and the scraped metal. it was a lot of work, and another reason for why i don't normally color my own stuff. it takes me too damn long to color. lol.
well we got screamer and landmine, and some sector 7 guys. i wonder what will happen. well i won't tell you. you'll have to wait until issue 02 comes out to find out.
