So this is my piece i have in the upcoming darkstalkers tribute book produced by udon entertainment.
i have to say i had a lot of fun with this pic. i wasn't sure at first what i wanted to draw, but then i decided since i draw transformers a lot, why not make all the characters into robots.
it was pretty fun. the hardest part was coloring it, since i don't color things that often. so there are a few parts that i think i can now do better, but at the time i did this, it was pretty good to me.
so this book will debut at Anime Expo and will be in a gorgeous limited edition hardcover. if it's anything like the streetfighter tribute it's definitely a must have for your bookshelf or coffee table.
Udon will be selling them at various convention that they attend, however if you can't make it to a con, but still want one, you can order it here. [link]

well i can't wait to get my hands on one of these books.

1. The characters...you made them into robots!! I love the face concepts and the colours, really makes them stand out, one may think they are all from cybertron!! I love the individual lines and plating, really makes them stand out like the transformers.

2. The colours really suit each other and add feeling to the entire picture, which I liked very much. It was well drawn and excellently coloured. I love the arrangement of the characters, and their placing reminds me of the Transformers film adaptation pictures you did a few months back.

I will so get a poster of this if it was selling!!

thanks. yeah, i do enjoy doing movie poster layouts for pics. not sure why, i just do.
i might make a print of this, but i'm not sure right now. i guess i'll have to ask udon about that.
